Celebrating over 60 Years of Timeless Dance

Welcome to Banneker Ballroom Dance Club

Step onto the dance floor and become part of a legacy!

For six decades, Banneker Ballroom Dance Club has been bringing people together in the Washington metro area through the joy of ballroom dance. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or taking your first steps, our warm and welcoming community is here to share the rhythm, elegance, and passion of dance.

We offer weekly beginner and intermediate classes in American Smooth and Latin dances, including Waltz, Foxtrot, American Tango, Salsa, Cha Cha, and Rumba — no partner necessary! Join us for classes, Dance & Learn socials, and annual galas where music and movement create lasting memories.

Membership is available but not required — everyone is welcome on our dance floor.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization.

Let’s keep the tradition alive — one step at a time.

The inclusion of the Banneker Ballroom Dance Club in Fort Totten and Lamond-Riggs: A Historical Tapestry highlights its cultural and community significance in the area. This book, co-authored by Michelle Lisa Herman, Stephanie Mills Trice, and Deborah Grimstead, is a rich resource for understanding the local history of the Fort Totten and Lamond-Riggs neighborhoods
